ICON Sports Coaching are proud to be a corporate patron of Mountbatten Hampshire Hospice and are deeply committed to raising both vital funds and awareness for the incredible care and support they provide.

Across all of our sports coaching programmes, we are passionate about using the power of physical activity and community to make a positive difference. Throughout the year, we host a range of fundraising events, engaging our coaching groups, participants, families and wider community to support the hospice and the life-changing work they do.

At the heart of our fundraising efforts is the legacy of our heavenly super ICON, Gillian. Gillian’s courage, determination and spirit continue to inspire everyone at ICON Sports Coaching and beyond. During her battle with cancer, Gillian defied all expectations when she returned to our Thursday inclusive football session. In a moment that will stay with us forever, she rose unassisted from her wheelchair, walked to the penalty spot, kicked a football, scored, celebrated — and then calmly returned to her chair. That moment lit up the sports hall and left everyone lucky enough to witness it utterly amazed.

Gillian’s bravery has inspired her close friends, teammates and coaches to continue setting new goals, embracing movement, and finding joy in being active — no matter the challenges faced.

This is why fundraising for Mountbatten Hampshire Hospice means so much to us. It is our way of honouring Gillian’s legacy and supporting the hospice that cared for her during her final days. Through continued fundraising, awareness and community action, we hope to ensure that others receive the same compassion, dignity and support that Gillian did
